Sponsorship
What sponsorship buys, and what it cannot buy.
Paid placement exists to fund the directory. It does not exist to change what the directory says. These are the rules, stated before anyone pays.
What can be sponsored
- A record slot. A labelled placement within a workflow. The record keeps its own verification status and check date.
- A workflow report. A labelled sponsor line on one workflow hub page.
Availability and rates are provided on request. Write to [email protected].
What sponsorship cannot do
- It cannot change a record's verification status. A sponsored record that does not meet the Checked requirements stays Unverified.
- It cannot outrank verified records. Inside a filtered view, Checked records always appear before Unverified ones, sponsored or not.
- It cannot add claims, remove qualifications, or soften a limitation in a record.
- It cannot suppress a competing record, and it cannot prevent a record from being corrected or retired.
How placements are labelled
Every paid placement carries a visible Sponsored label, and its outbound links use rel="sponsored" so search engines can identify them. Labels are not conditional on the placement being renewed.
Editorial independence
Records are compiled and corrected without reference to whether a vendor is a sponsor. Verification work is not offered as a paid service, and there is no path to buy a Checked status.
